Travel group eyes development of Clark, North Luzon tourism

CLARK FREEPORT – At least 150 travel agencies from across the country will gather here on September 23 in a bid to boost the tourism potential of the Clark Freeport and other travel destinations north of Luzon.
Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President Felipe Antonio B. Remollo said the National Association of Independent Travel Agencies (Naitas) will be holding its General Membership and Business Meeting (GMBM) on Friday at the Hilltop Restaurant inside the Mimosa Leisure Estate here.
Remollo, who will serve as the event’s guest speaker, has been bullish in promoting the tourism industry inside the Freeport, by staging regular sports tourism events, which he considers as one of his flagship projects for Clark.
Anne Castro, Naitas chapter president in Pampanga, said the event will bring to Clark 150 travel agencies “to explore Clark and its nearby communities and promote tourism in the north.”
Castro emphasized the importance of Clark as an international gateway to the world, which is vital in developing further the tourism industry in the place and the rest of the Central and Northern Luzon regions.
“The fifth GMBM of Naitas in Clark is definitely an opportunity for all travel partners to see and explore the next hub in Asia which will spur economic growth in international and local tourism in the north,” Castro said.
Earlier, Remollo announced that CDC has signed the renewal of Nayong Pilipino Foundation’s contract inside the Clark Freeport.
He said the renewed contract with Nayong Pilipino, which is located at the Clark Expo, “will surely make the tourism industry inside the Clark Freeport more vibrant, bustling, and attractive to tourists.”
