Recently, it’s been said that children’s behavior is getting worse. I think this is a problem not only in Japan, but also all over the world. I don’t know what this statement is based on, but I think it is true.
The key to this problem is found in the way we raise our children. I think the most basic thing we have to tell and teach them is common sense. The meaning of common sense might be too abstract or general, but here, for example, we could teach them to show respect for older people, not do things that they don’t want to be done to them, and how to respond in various situations. I think, this is the thing that you have to teach. I believe that I was raised like this by my parents.
Right now, I’m not sure whether mothers should stay at home or not. I think it depends on their surroundings and situations, but I think mothers don’t need to make excuses when they stay home. I think it’s a wonderful thing. They don’t have to justify what they’re doing.
I’m only twenty-one years old, so it is difficult for me to think about child raising, but I know that these are the things I must begin thinking about.
