CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga–Sta. Rita Mayor Yolanda “Yolly” M. Pineda and Senior Inspector Michael “Mike” B. Masangkay, municipal police chief, received commendations from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) yesterday.

The awarding ceremonies were led by Chief Inspector Edgardo Ladao, regional police director, as part of the Philippine National Police’s 18th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month Celebration themed, “Serbisyong Makatotohanan at Matatag na Ugnayan ng Pulisya at Mamamayan Tungo sa Tuwid na Daan.”
Pineda was recognized as the Most Supportive Local Chief Executive for her unwavering support to the personnel of the Sta. Rita Municipal Police Station (MPS).

Some of her notable contributions to the local police include the construction of the new police station; procurement of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras placed in the town’s critical areas; and provision of firearms and equipment for the personnel of Sta. Rita MPS.

Further, Pineda supported other PCR activities such as livelihood programs; environmental-concern projects; disaster preparedness, response, and management activities; and, procurement of necessary search and rescue equipment.

Masangkay, on the other hand, was awarded as Best Police Commissioned Officer in the MPS/CPS Category. He was lauded for the series of community development projects and activities, thus, creating a trusting and amiable relationship with the people of Sta. Rita.

Accordingly, the Sta. Rita MPS was regarded as Best Municipal Police Station amongst the different police stations throughout Central Luzon.

“As we receive these recognitions, we at the Sta. Rita MPS are more inspired and determined than ever to perform our duties as police officers and maintain our harmonious relationship with the community. We could not have made it here without the assistance of our beloved mayor, as well as the support of the people of Sta. Rita,” Masangkay said.
