CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Public and private partnership can work in Pampanga.
This holds true as the Provincial Manpower Training Center (PMTC) sponsored trainings and seminars on various employable sectors in cooperation of private entities.
Francis Maslog, PMTC Officer-in-Charge, said they have likewise lined-up the conduct of training on carpentry for the production of needed school desks for the Department of Education.
This is in partnership with the Chamber of Furniture Industry of the Philippines-Pampanga chapter (CFIPP), he said.
Earlier, CFIPP administered upholstery training participated in by some out of school youth.
PMTC in partnership with Holy Cross Training and Assessment Center, (HCTAC) a Manila-based private training outfit also started a 15-day pilot training on backhoe loader operation in Lubao town in line with the Provincial Government’s desire to provide employment and livelihood opportunities to its constituents.
Some 25 qualified individuals benefited from the first-ever training on heavy equipment operation conducted in Pampanga.
HCTAC shared the use of its backhoe, needed fuel including the training venue as part of its corporate social responsibility commitment, Maslog said.
He claimed that after the training, the management of Holy Cross also promised to assist the trainees in gaining employment in both local and foreign companies.
Governor Lilia Pineda disclosed Tuesday that the Provincial Government will likewise conduct training intended for the tricycle drivers on motorcycle engine mechanic.
Maslog reported that trainings on electrical installation and maintenance in Guagua, barangay Pulung Gubat in Candaba and Mexico towns, including welding in Apalit have been conducted by the PMTC.
