Outreach project benefits barangay
Tuesday, June 7, 2011
CAMELLA undertook yet another outreach project as a manifestation of their corporate social responsibility, this time sponsoring an Operation Tuli at Barangay Leon Garcia in Agdao last May 28.
About 50 young boys with ages ranging from six to 12 were the beneficiaries of free circumcision services. They were given a briefing and some counseling before undergoing the procedure, and free medicines to take home.

Around 14 doctors and medical students volunteered for the activity, headed by Dr. Delfin Valdez Jr. of Brokenshire Hospital and Vanessa Joy Velasco, president of Criados, an organization of medical students in Davao Medical School Foundation.
The medical team was assisted by barangay health workers and members of the barangay police of Leon Garcia.
Camella’s free circumcision services were made possible with the assistance of the Villar Foundation, Davao Medical Society, Criados Organization, and Barangay Leon Garcia through Kagawad Lita Empis.
A leading masterplan developer in the city, Camella Davao has been undertaking a series of outreach activities as part of their corporate social responsibility. This shows that apart from their company’s commitment to excellence in their business goals, Camella is also committed to give back to society through their CSR programs.
Last May 18, about 50 kids and adults of Barangay Leon Garcia were beneficiaries of the feeding activity sponsored by Camella in coordination with City Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre.
The company also participated in the launch of “GreenViron: Vista Land Campaign for Sustainability”, the simultaneous nationwide tree-planting activity of Vista Land & Lifescapes, the largest homebuilder in the country.
Camella planted tree saplings in two of their masterplan communities in Davao, Toscana and Camella Northpoint, joining the rest of their Vista Land sister companies as they also conducted the tree-planting in their various developments all over the country. This was Vista Land’s effort to further green their communities as a tribute to Earth Day that was commemorated last April.
