Mayor: Angeles City’s income at P967 million
ANGELES CITY — The actual income of this chartered city has increased to P967 million in one-year period, from July 2010 to May 2011, Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said.
Pamintuan, during his State of the City Address (Soca), said the city’s income has increased by P102.2 million since he assumed office last 2010. From July 2009 to May 2010, the city’s income was at P866 million.
He added that as of June 30, 2011, the City Government’s cash position based on bank statement is P297 million compared to the P88.6 million in June 2010, a difference of P208.4 million.
On taxes, the city has collected some P410 million compared to last year’s P314 million.
The mayor attributed these achievements to public’s trust and confidence to incumbent officials under his leadership.
“Even before we look back, may I now tell you with certainty that whatever we have achieved in the past year, we shall surpass in the next year,” he assured his constituents.
Pamintuan also cited problems he inherited from the past administration but stressed the support of his constituents has helped him resolved them.
“With the support of the people, what else can we not achieve? Kung tayo po ay sinusuportahan ng mamamayan, wala pong imposible!” he said.
Pamintuan also mentioned the strengthening of the Local Development Council, which has formed part in the formulation of the Executive Legislative Agenda and the Capacity Development Agenda.
The mayor also thanked members of the City Council, under the stewardship of Vice Mayor Vicky Vega, for creating legislations in support of his vision for the city. (Reynaldo G. Navales)
