CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A member of the Liberal Party (LP) in this city is reportedly being considered to take over the second highest post in the government-run Clark Development Corporation (CDC).
Sun.Star Pampanga learned over the weekend that former City of San Fernando Councilor Jose “Pol” Quiwa III is being eyed as the next executive vice president of CDC by the Aquino administration.
“Matunog na matunog ang pangalan ni Pol na siya ang susunod na maa-appoint bilang EVP sa CDC. Kaya lamang ay hindi ko pa alam kung tatangapin niya ang posisyon na yon,” the source said.
The same source said Quiwa is “very much qualified to be the next EVP, saying that he has the educational background and management skills to run the government owned and controlled corporation.
Quiwa is not available for a comment about the report as of press time.
Quiwa ran for congressman in the third district of Pampanga in the May 2010 election as the LP standard bearer.
He has an ongoing electoral protest before the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET) against two-term Congressman Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. (Lakas-Kampi-CMD).
Quiwa has a Master in Business Administration at the Ateneo Graduate School. He also has a Business Management Degree at San Beda College.
At present, he is a senior partner at a Makati-based management consulting company.
Lawyer Felipe Romullo in April replaced Benigno Ricafort as CDC president.
At present, the EVP position is being held by Philip Panlilio, an appointee of the Arroyo administration. (Chris Navarro)
