Korean firm to establish P1.58-B school in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT — A Korean firm is planning to establish a P1.58-billion educational facility inside the Freeport.
Clark Development Corporation (CDC) president Felipe Antonio Remollo said the Hae O Rum Development Corporation plans to put up the school in Clark, following the growing numbers of Korean students arriving in Pampanga and other parts of Central Luzon.
The facility will be constructed in a 2.75-hectare area along the M.A. Roxas Highway.
The project will initially employ around 30 personnel.
Meanwhile, CDC is finalizing the permanent location of the Philippine Science High School Central Luzon Campus (PSHS-CLC).
Presently, the PSHS is located at Clark Polytechnic campus, which was named Wagner High during the time of the Americans in Clark.
Far East Air Transport Inc. University extension is also located at the Polytechnic, where aircraft engineering courses are available.
University of the Philippines Pampanga Extension program is also located in Clark.
Another school inside the Freeport is the Saint John’s school, another international school but mostly catering Korean students whose parents are expatriates and investors in Clark and in other adjacent communities.
Another international school — The Brent School — will also be located at the Donggwang Clark Business Park to cater the growing number of international students in Clark.
The schools decided to be in Clark because of the Freeport’s good facilities like telecommunications, electricity, water and other critical utilities. (Reynaldo G. Navales)
