Jean-Louis Callier (France Boissons) : “This autumn, it’s all about fruity wines and big wine promotional campaigns” (Oct 25, 2009)
Clark Wine Center is pleased to relay interesting news and articles about wine to you on this web site. We hope that this will enhance your wine shopping experience when you visit this wine shop in Pampanga Clark Freeport Zone.
On the website l’Hotellerie Restauration, which provides specialist information for wine professionals from that sector, Jean-Louis Callier, the wine director for France Boissons, has recently identified the trends – marketing, as well as economic – which have emerged in favour of the summer season : “We have seen a movement towards good value wines. For example, our campaign for fresh, summery Reds and Rosés has been a notable success, for a range which is totally contemporary : fresh, fashionable wines, especially rosé. We have been able to appeal to young people with packaging which is adapted for various occasions – large, magnum-style containers for example – and to women with wines which are light and elegant.”
In themselves, these wine trends are nothing new, but France Boissons have seen to it that these elements are incorporated into their range, while working to maintain attractive wine prices. “This autumn, we are offering fruity wines, promoting a selection of different French regions : our Biobon range, certified organic, a Gascony wine which is sweet and above all fresh and delicious, our XVIII Saint-Lucet with a nod to a famous New World wine, Escudo Rojo. Big promotional campaigns allow our clients to remain competitive with consumers buying wines for pleasure.”
Wine sales have supplied occasions for France Boissons to organise the project ‘VIP’ (Vin Initiative Pro) in shops between 21st and 25th September. These meetings will give way on the third Thursday in October to the Défilé des Primeurs (Early Wine Show), which is followed in December by Sparkling Wine Week. Such events are a chance to strengthen existing clients relations and to find new wine retail outlets : “[This project has taught us] that having a nation-wide identity allows us to unite our teams. The wine events have really mobilised our sales team, who have been involved in inviting all our wine clients and prospective clients to come to these tastings and discover some unexpected examples of great wines! This project has provided the opportunity to take the initiative when creating events, really making the week your own : a great deal of contacts have been secured either through sales or by finding new retail outlets. This has inspired our wine clients with a new perception of what a professional wine agent can do for them.”
