How Hand Rolled Cigars Are Made – In Reverse

Introduction & Preparation
Removing the Wrapper from the Cigar
After a few days, I was ready to begin the experiment. I placed the cigar on a table, and unwrapped the outer tobacco leaf (wrapper) of the cigar. This step went quite smoothly, thanks to the advance preparation previously described.
Removing the Binder from the Cigar
My next step was to remove the binder. The binder is a tobacco leaf, having little or no flavor, which is used to bind and contain the filler tobacco inside the cigar. This process was a bit of a struggle, but I eventually prevailed.
A Bunch of Long Filler Tobacco Leaves
After the binder was removed, all that was left were long filler tobacco leafs, which were neatly bunched together. As I pulled the leaves apart, I realized that I just ruined a perfectly good smoke, and was beginning to feel some remorse. Then, I remembered all the expensive items destroyed in movies and on television, just for entertainment. At least my sacrifice was made in the name of higher education.
Reassemble the Tobacco Leaves Into a Cigar
The last step in this experiment was to try to put the cigar back together. Needless to say, I am not a master cigar roller, nor even a rookie apprentice. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Would you buy a cigar that looked like this?
