Fair slated to boost CL tourism

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – In line with the nation’s tourism week from September 22-29, Central Luzon will be holding the “Tourism Central 2013” aimed to bring different sectors and stakeholders to better develop the tourism industry of the region.

Leo Mendoza, officer-in-charge of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA)-Hilaga (Northern Philippines), disclosed that the inaugural festival is a series of sporting activities, conferences, meets, seminars, trade exhibits and fairs.

Highlighting the event is the 1st Regional Tourism Summit (RTS) which will be conducted on the 27th at the former Paskuhan Village in this city.
Anchored on the theme “Endless Possibilities in Tourism”, this occasion will bring together stakeholders in the tourism industry including national, government agencies, local government units, owners, and operators of tourism-oriented enterprises, students and faculty members, professionals, and enthusiasts.

Topics that will be discussed include “Tourism and Environmental Sustainability”, “Tourism and Governance” and “Outlook, Trends and Opportunities in Tourism.”

Among the other events in the week-long funfare include Takbong Turismo Family Fun Run, Zumba Marathon, Padyak Turismo, Pampangalicious Food Festival, Job Fair, Fashiontography, Fashion Show, Central Luzon Business Expo 2013, Boot Camp on tourism and e-commerce, Tourism business-to-business meet, Awitang Turismo, and the region’s attempt to the Guinness world record on the longest boodle fight.
