Beaune
In the heart of Burgundy, Beaune is the wine capital and the domaine des hospices wine estate is its historic emblem. Since the 15th century, the wines of Beaune and the hospices convey the unique flavours of the Burgundy soil. These highly sought-after wines are renowned all over the world, particularly thanks to a charity auction organised for the past 150 years devoted to the joy of sampling the wines and discovering the riches produced in the region’s soil.
The weekend is also the opportunity to organise various other associated festivities: street shows, gala dinners, concerts, and prestigious sampling sessions, all culminating in the high point which is this Sunday’s wine auction. This year, 64 vintage year wines will be on sale, which means around 650 bottles. Including an exceptional bottle, traditionally proposed by the hospices de Beaune, which will be auctioned in aid of a charity ‘For Life’ offering ‘Hope against Cancer’ called ‘Association pour la Vie – Espoir contre le Cancer’ (A.V.E.C).
