EdPam lauds consistent services of city hospital

ANGELES CITY – Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan lauded the efforts of the hospital administrators and personnel at the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC) for their staunch commitment for proper health care services to the public in the past year.

According to a report from Dr. Antonio Dizon, hospital director of the RLMMC, the hospital formerly known as the Ospital ning Angeles has admitted 26,840 patients, seen 72,600 patients in the Out-Patient Department, conducted 1,870 ambulance rescue operations, administered 2,640surgeries, completed 275,000 laboratory examinations & 29,700 x-ray procedures and provided for 1,760 dental procedures and services from July 2011to April of this year.

“Achievements such as this make us proud to say that the city’s health care service is in top form,” Pamintuan said.

Dizon also reported that the establishment of the Angeles City Renal Care Unit (ACRCU) has allowed the hospital to treat 3,957 patients suffering from kidney ailments since it started operations in July 2011.

“The construction of this dialysis center with its 19 dialysis machines is an unprecedented achievement and development in local governance and public health interest,” the mayor added.

The continued operation and success of the ACRCU inspired Pamintuan to propose a resolution to several national government agencies and government owned and controlled corporations to set aside 5% of their annual national operating budget for the establishment and operation of Renal Care Units or centers in all cities of the country.

Pamintuan admits that many have been skeptical of having a hospital operated and financed by the local government, more so a dialysis center.

“The support of organizations such as the World Medical Relief Incorporated (WMRI) and other private organizations within the city allowed the RLMMC to consistently render quality health care services to the Angelenos and even people from nearby towns and municipalities,” he said.

“We can really attribute the success of the hospital and the dialysis center to the trust that our administration received from various public organizations, businesses and private groups who have allowed Angeles City to become a catalyst for proper and affordable public health care all throughout the country,” Pamintuan added.

With an improved façade and renovated emergency and operating rooms, RLMMC is set to have another building with a 30-bed capacity that will be constructed this year within the hospital compound.
