City College to augment workforce

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Councilor Jimmy Lazatin said over the weekend that the City College of San Fernando was established to augment the city’s workforce.
Speaking before thousands of applicants and employers during the Magsilbi Tamu Week jobs fair at Heroes Hall, Lazatin, who chairs the City Council’s Committee on Education said: “The City of San Fernando is moving to become a greater city. With the influx of investors now, there is a growing demand for qualified employees and the City College will augment that and mould a well-educated workforce.”
Lazatin added that the City Government continuously strives to maintain its being “the most business friendly city” in the country.
“It is because of the good governance of Mayor Oscar Rodriguez, Vice Mayor Edwin Santiago and the City Council that investors and employers seek out Fernandinos. Rest assured we will continue to support businesses and investments here in the city with excellent education,” he said.
Recently, the Escaler, Lazatin and Panlilio families donated a two-hectare parcel of land in Barangay San Jose where the City College campus will be located permanently from its temporary home at the Pampanga High School.
More than 600 students, all City Government scholars, are pursuing baccalaureate degrees at the City College.
