CDC, Clark locators support ‘Kabahagi Ako’ project

CLARK FREEPORT – Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President Felipe Antonio B. Remollo said the state-owned CDC and locators here are supporting the bid to address the lack of classrooms in Pampanga’s first congressional district.
Remollo said he had recently met with 1st District Representative Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin and Mabalacat Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales to discuss the solon’s education program dubbed “Kabahagi Ako: Adopt-A-School Program” launched last week at the Stotsenberg Hotel here.
On Thursday, more than 500 guests from private and government sectors attended Lazatin’s Adopt-A-School Program where pledges worth P178 million or an equivalent to 229 classrooms were collected.
The pledges covered at least 51 percent of the 444 classroom backlog in the province’s 1st district, which is composed of the towns of Magalang, Mabalacat, and Angeles City.
“Congressman Lazatin and Mayor Morales visited me a few days ago to discuss how the CDC administration, including the various locators in the Freeport, can help put up the remaining number of classrooms needed to meet the objectives of the education summit,” Remollo said.
Remollo said he has already set a meeting with the Clark Investors and Locators Association (Cila) and other top officials of locator firms to determine which public schools to adopt.
“Education is the great equalizer, which is why the CDC is fully supporting this education summit because we believe in all of its objectives,” said Remollo said. (Reynaldo G. Navales)
