Bosconians: Learning, Leading, Living

“WE learn. We lead. We live.”
Such was the call over the weekend as more than 350 students from Don Bosco Sta. Rosa, Canlubang, Mandaluyong, Makati, Tarlac and Pampanga gathered at the Laus Group of Companies headquarters in the City of San Fernando for their annual Don Bosco Student Leaders Assembly themed “Propesyon Ko, Buhay Busko.”
The Laus Group of Companies headed by chairman and chief executive officer Levy P. Laus from Batch ’66, hosted the forum and treated the student leaders to a tour of the conglomerate’s facilities and a glimpse of its affiliates – Mitsubishi Carworld, Premier Cars BMW, Corporate Guarantee and Insurance Company, Huper Optik, CLTV 36 and DWRW 95.1 FM—and their operations Friday afternoon.
Mosche Lacson of the Don Bosco Student Council gladly expressed appreciation for the study tour, which he said was the beginning of their quest to dream big and live the Bosconian way of life: “Today marks the start, the beginning, the alpha, the Day One of the Student Leaders’ Assembly 2012-2013. After countless meetings and preparations of the different Don Bosco Settings spearheaded by the Office for the Development of Education Apostolate, we Bosconians have finally arrived at the day where we say ProBusko: Propesyon ko, Buhay Busko.”
Lacson said that they have chosen the Laus Group of Companies for this year’s SLA because it epitomizes “the fruits of the Bosconian alumni leaders as an example, inspiration and challenge to Bosconian student leaders.”
“Today shows how a boy who has a rosary in his pocket, a boy who has a strong devotion to Mary Help of Christians, a boy who lives extraordinary well could do wonders after he graduates. That is why we chose Mr. Levy P. Laus as a speaker for this first workshop and part of this SLA…because he has translated his vision successfully into reality,” added the student leader.
“As Warren Bennis, an American scholar, organizational consultant, and author of several award winning books on leadership once said: ‘Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality. This day we are challenged to live the way life of Bosconian leaders. We learn. We lead. We live,” said Lacson.
