Aquino: PhilHealth at ang Kalusugan ng mga Ina

Kaya sa ating Ima, Nanay, Mama, Mommy… ano man ang ating nakasanayang itawag sa babaeng nagbigay buhay sa ating lahat, tanggapin po ninyo ang aking malugod na pagbati: Masayang kayaldawan kareng ima tamu!
Ngunit bukod sa Mother’s Day, alam ba ninyo na tuwing ikalawang lingo naman ng Mayo ay ipinagdiriwang ang Safe Motherhood Week sa ating bansa?
Ang nasabing pagdiriwang ay batay sa itinadhana ng Presidential Proclamation 200 na nilagdaan noong 2002 para itaguyod ang kalusugan at kapakanan ng mga ina lalo yaong mga nasa depressed areas at mga kabundukan.
Dito sa ating bansa, ang maternal mortality ratio ay 162 kada 100,000 panganganak. Pitong ina ang namamatay araw-araw dahil sa pregnancy-related problems gaya ng pagdurugo o hemorrhage, impeksyon, mataas na presyon, at obstructed labor.
Bilang tugon sa panawagang ito ng pamahalaan at ng iba’t-ibang sector para masugpo ang kalunos-lunos na sitwasyon ng marami nating ina, ang inyong PhilHealth ay naglunsad ng benepisyo para sa unang apat na normal na panganganak sa mga hospital at non-hospital facilities. Ang aming coverage para rito ay nagkakahalaga ng P6,500 para takpan ang mga serbisyong ipinagkakaloob ng mga pasilidad at duktor.
Kung sa mga maternity clinics at birthing homes manganganak ang ating mga ina ay masasabi kong mas lalong makatutulong ang PhilHealth sa pagpapabuti ng kalusugan ng ina at ng kaniyang sanggol.
Ito ay dahil sa binabayaran namin hindi lang ang aktuwal na panganganak kundi maging ang prenatal at postnatal services. Mahalaga ang regular na matingnan ng isang propesyunal ang mga nagbubuntis bago at hanggang matapos silang manganak para maligtas sila sa mga anumang panganib sa kalusugan. Mabuti rin ito para sa sanggol.
Sinisiguro din ng PhilHealth ang kaligtasan ng mga miyembro o dependent dahil sa mga accredited hospitals at lying-in, birthing homes at midwife-managed clinics lamang maa-avail ang benepisyong ito.
Para naman sa mga manganganak sa pamamagitan ng caesarian section procedure, ito ay binabayaran din ng PhilHealth.

Hinihikayat ko ang lahat na hindi pa miyembro ng PhilHealth na iseguro na ang kanilang kalusugan sa PhilHealth. Paalala lamang na ang eligibility requirements sa mga individually paying members para ma-avail ang benepisyo para sa mga nabanggit ko ay siyam na buwang hulog sa loob ng labindalawang buwan (9/12) bago ang paggamit ng benepisyo.
Naniniwala kami na ang aming benepisyo para sa panganganak ay makatutulong sa pagsisiguro sa kalusugan ng mga ina at sanggol sa ating bansa. Ngunit higit sa kanino man, ang ating mga ina ang may higit na responsibilidad para tangkilikin ang mga serbisyong ipinagkakaloob ng Pamahalaan para maging malusog sila at ang kanilang sanggol.
