3,400 Aetas benefit from Pineda Noche Buena treat

PORAC, Pampanga – At least 3,400 Aeta families benefited from the “Noche Buena” treat of Gov. Lilia Pineda, a second district board member disclosed.
Board Member Olga Frances “Fritzie” David-Dizon, who represented Pineda in the distribution on December 24, said Aetas from Floridablanca, Mabalacat City and this town each received a pack of goods and one whole chicken. She added Pineda monitored the packing of goods at their residence in Lubao town starting December 23.
“The governor wants to make sure that our Aetas sisters and brothers have something good to share to celebrate the birth of Christ considered the merriest day of the year,” said David-Dizon, who was joined by her brother, Porac Vice Mayor Dexter David, executive assistant Edna Vitug and Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) officer Elizabeth Baybayin in the distribution at Barangay Planas, here.
Vice Mayor David, in his speech, urged the Aetas residing in Planas “not to forget those who love you.” He was referring to Pineda who earlier launched various projects for the Aetas in Porac, including the improvement of their agricultural production.
Baybayin said some 3,385 packs had been distributed in Nabuklod in Floridablanca, Planas in Porac and Calumpang in Mabalacat. She added that there at least 15,000 Aetas in Pampanga, most of whom are based in the three areas.
Jaime Guiao who is based in Planas, said in the dialect: “I am happy we have something to eat later.”
