MVP companies, Gilas give aid to flood victims

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Manny V. Pangilinan Group of Companies and Team Gilas Pilipinas on Saturday distributed thousands of packs of relief goods to Fernandinos affected by the southwest monsoon rain.

Mayor Edwin Santiago, Representative Oscar Rodriguez (3rd district), Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin and Councilors Angie Hizon and BJ Lagman joined Team Gilas’ Gary David, Beau Belga and executives of ABC-5, Maynilad and the Manila North Tollways Corporation-North Luzon Expressway at Heroes Hall in distributing the relief goods ferried in by the Philippine Marines.

“Our fellow Kapampangan, Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan would like to extend his assistance to those affected by floods. It is his and our way of sharing what we can to help the people of San Fernando get back on their feet,” David said.

Last year, MVP also came to the rescue when Pampanga was placed in a similar state of calamity due to the southwest monsoon and massive flooding. Various municipalities were the recipient of the aid consisting of food, bottled water, clothing and emergency essentials.

Both Santiago and Rodriguez thanked Pangilinan and his officials for the assistance.
