Guv inspects school projects in far-flung barangays

MAGALANG — Governor Lilia Pineda visited over the weekend some six ongoing and completed school building projects in far-flung barangays here, in order to consult with school officials other development needs of their respective elementary schools.
Pineda was accompanied by Vice Governor Joseller Guiao and Board Members Monina Laus, Fritzie David-Dizon, Crisostomo Garbo, Trina Dizon and Tarcicio Halili in consulting with school officials of San Miguel and Balitucan Elementary schools for further development projects here.
The officials visited Balitucan Elementary School where the Provincial Government recently completed a two-classroom building worth P1.5 million.
Board Member Halili said the ongoing and completed projects in at least six elementary schools here will greatly improve the quality of education of the students.
“These schools need these buildings in order to facilitate quality instruction to their students. The governor has also ordered other development undertakings on the existing buildings needing improvement and repair,” he said.
Halili added that most of the school buildings are constructed at an average of P1 million, depending on the specifications. The buildings are within standards prescribed by the Department of Education.
