Chinese loses P4M to 3 armed robbers

CAMP OLIVAS – A Chinese national lost some P4 million after he was held up by three armed men while on his way to the Fontana Leisure Park inside the Clark Freeport over the weekend.
Zhuang Zhi Qiang, 34, temporarily billeted at Fontana, has just withdrawn P4 million from the BDO branch at the SM City Clark before the heist.
Police said the victim boarded his Toyota Corolla, driven by Fontana company driver Romulo Corneliosa, 51, of Barangay Dau, Mabalacat, after withdrawing the said amount from the bank.
While travelling towards Fontana Leisure Park, three armed men, including an alleged CDC police personnel on board a CDC Police Security Department patrol motorcycle, flagged down the victim’s vehicle.
Corneliosa then pulled over and opened the vehicle’s central lock, which led the suspects to open the car’s doors.
One of the suspects at knife point forcibly took the money from the Chinese national, police said.
The driver later admitted he had the knowledge of the incident and told police he was willing to pinpoint the suspects, which later led to their arrest.
Mabalacat Police Station-4 arrested two of the three suspects, identified as Allan Mamanian, 32, a member of CDC’s Police Security Department and resident of Barangay Sindalan, City of San Fernando; and Joseph Estanislao, 41, of Dau, Mabalacat. (Ric Sapnu)
