Aussie firm to invest P50 million to restore old cars

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE — An Australian firm is set to invest a P50-million restoration project for vintage vehicles project inside this Freeport, officials of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) announced.
CDC President Felipe Antonio Remollo said the Byrnes Motor Trust Restoration Incorporated, has signed a new sub-lease agreement recently with Kita Corporation, one of the pioneering firms in Clark.
The restorations of old and vintage cars have been a hit not only in Australia, but also in other countries, according to Remollo.
Remollo said the restoration project is exclusively for all kinds of vintage, classic, modern classic and other repairable cars, jeeps, pickups and others including accessories, tools and equipment for refurbishment, restorations, conversions and repair.
The firm will import old cars from Australia, North America, Asia and Europe which will then be re-exported.
In Australia, owners of vintage and old cars prefer their cars restored as close to original as possible, which is what Byrnes Motors is hoping to provide its loyal customers and other vintage car lovers in other countries.
Remollo said Byrnes Motors will employ 85 highly-skilled workers for the restoration project in Clark.
