August 20 declared a holiday to observe Eid’l Fitr
MANILA — President Benigno Aquino III on Monday declared August 20, 2012, a regular holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr, or the end of Ramadhan.
The President made the announcement through Proclamation 455, which was signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr.
“To promote cultural understanding and integration, the entire Filipino nation should have the full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance and celebration of Eid’l Fitr,” the proclamation noted.
