Cops nab member of robbery gang

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Operatives of the Community Police Assistance Center 4 (Compac 4) of this city’s police force apprehended on Saturday a suspected member of a gang victimizing Fresh Options meat stores.
Compac 4 chief Police Investigator John Philip Pineda identified the suspect as one Rosvy Manguera Liwag, 27, of Sitio Paraiso, Barangay Sindalan, this city.
Liwag was tagged as one of the three suspects in a robbery case with force and intimidation, as they attempted to stage a heist at a Fresh Options store along Barangay Saguin, also in this city, last Friday around 6:30 p.m.
The suspect was apprehended after a hot pursuit operation led by Pineda, PO2 Ian Carlo Yambao and PO1 Rethmel Santos in Barangay Sindalan.
Found in his possession was a .38 caliber revolver without serial number and six live bullets.
Violation of PD 1866 or illegal possession of firearms was filed against the suspect before Inquest Prosecutor Ireneo Dela Cruz. He is detained at Compac 4 pending his commitment order. (Jovi T. De Leon)
