Folks thank GMA for water system

STA. RITA, Pampanga – Locals here, particularly from Barangay San Basilio, thanked Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (second district) for putting up a water system in their area, which they said has “changed their life tremendously.”

Residents welcomed Ang Galing Pinoy Rep. Mikey Arroyo, who represented his mother, and Mayor Yolly Pineda, Vice Mayor Homobono Guanlao, and re-electionist Board Member Art Salalila, during a house-to-house visit in the village where they thanked the younger Arroyo for the project.

Rowel Guevarra, a resident of San Basilio, told Arroyo and Pineda how the water system in their barangay has helped them in their everyday lives.

Guevarra said their families are very thankful for the water system, because it helped them in their basic needs.

“Water is life. Malaki po ang natipid namin. Hindi na kami nag-iigib ng tubig tuwing maliligo kami. Alam nyo naman po gaano kahirap mag-igib ng tubig. Nakatipid din po kami kasi hindi na kami nagpapalaba ng damit. Kami na po naglalaba dito sa bahay namin”, Guevarra said.

He said the locals greatly appreciate the efforts of Macapagal-Arroyo, because despite her situation, she has made it a point to extend services to her constituents.

“Kahit na po alam namin nakakulong siya ngayon, malaki po pasasalamat namin kay GMA kasi naaalala nya kami lagi at patuloy dumarating ang tulong nya sa amin,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, as representative of his mother, Mikey said the project is important since water is a necessity in one’s day-to-day living.

“This project is another testament to the untiring and unselfish desire of the former president to provide services to the people especially those in the countryside and to her fellow Kapampangans,” the younger Arroyo said.
