2 nabbed for gun, drugs

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Two men were charged for illegal possession of firearms and violation of illegal drug laws, police said Thursday.

The suspects Walfredo Gundam, 27, and Jericho Celso, 19, both natives of Barangay Pulung Maragul, Angeles City, were immediately brought to the community police assistance center (Compac) in Barangay Telebastagan after police found them in possession of a revolver.

Inspector John Pineda, station commander of Compac 4 in this city, said the .38 caliber revolver was found tucked in Gundam’s right waist when he and Celso were flagged down at an anti-criminality checkpoint.

The suspects were reportedly riding a motorcycle in tandem.

Pineda said that when the two were asked to bring out their personal belongings at the police station, police found shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in their possession.

Gundam had 10 sachets of suspected shabu in his pocket while Celso had four sachets. The 14 sachets of shabu had an estimated street value of P100,000. (Charlene Cayabyab)

Getting to the Clark Wine Center wine shop from Manila is quite simple:  after entering Clark Freeport from Dau and Angeles City, proceed straight along the main highway M A Roxas.
